Professor Tinyiko MALULEKE
Prof Tinyiko Maluleke is Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the Tshwane University of Technology. As well as being the current the Deputy Chairperson of the National Planning Commission, Prof Tinyiko Maluleke is a non-executive director of the MTN Foundation. He is also an elected member of the South African Academy of Science. Until January 2024, Prof Maluleke was a NRF B1 rated researcher - which means that he is considered an internationally acclaimed researcher, in terms of the number and quality of publications and graduated master’s as well as PhD students. Amongst other universities, Maluleke has been a visiting professor at: Hamburg University, (Germany), University of Vienna (Austria), University of Nairobi (Kenya), Calvin University (USA), University of Helsinki (Finland).
Prof Maluleke has served in various executive management roles at Unisa, at UJ where he served as Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Internationalisation, and at UP where he was advisor to the Vice-Chancellor. As well as the more than one hundred scholarly publications, Prof Maluleke has published dozens of opinion pieces in such media platforms as the Mail and Guardian, Sunday Independent, Sunday World as well as various broadcast platforms.
