Professor Tinyiko MALULEKE

Prof Tinyiko Maluleke is Vice Chancellor and Principal of the Tshwane University of Technology. He is also a non-executive director of the MTN Foundation. As well as being a well published scholar in his field of specialisation - namely, the intersection between politics, culture and religion - Maluleke is an elected member of the South African Academy of Science.

The South African National Research Foundation currently rates him at the level of B1 - which means that he is considered an internationally acclaimed researcher, in terms of the number and quality of publications and graduated Masters as well as PhD students. Amongst other universities, Maluleke has been a visiting professor at: Hamburg University, (Germany), University of Vienna (Austria); University of Nairobi (Kenya), Calvin University (USA), University of Helsinki (Finland).

Prof Maluleke has served in various executive management roles at Unisa, UJ, and most recently, at UP where he was Advisor to the Vice Chancellor and Principal. As well as the scholarly publications required of him as a researcher, Prof Maluleke disseminates his knowledge through the regular publication of opinion pieces in such media platforms as, Mail and Guardian, Sunday Independent, Sunday World as well as various broadcast platforms.
