Ms Makhiba Mollo Baloyi is a member of the Institute of Directors (IOD) South Africa. She is an independent ESG consultant currently running her own consultancy ( no 42 ESG and Climate Change Consulting and has a grave interest in matters related to diversity inclusion for people with disabilities, critical minerals and climate change. She has over 17 years in corporate having previously worked at Africa's largest asset manager, the Public Investment Corporation (PIC) and spent ten years at Africa's largest stock exchange (JSE) working on the pioneering Socially Responsible Investment Index.
She has a broad view of responsible investing and Corporate Governance in the finance industry, from both an issuer regulator and asset management perspective. She has been part of organising the JSE inaugural international Ringing A Bell for Gender equity event on International Woman’s Day, 2016 and more recently participated in the inaugural Africa Climate Change Summit in Kenya in 2023. She holds a political science degree from the University of Cape Town, a UN certificate in Environmental and Social risk analysis, a postgraduate management diploma in Corporate Governance (Monash University) and a postgraduate certificate in international trade and African political economy at the Thabo Mbeki leadership Institute, UNISA.
