Dr Ntuthuko Bhengu is the founder of Alchemy Health Technologies, a health policy advisor and director of companies. Dr Bhengu is serving his second term as a South African National Planning Commissioner and was a panelist of the Health Market Inquiry which was established by the Competition Commission to probe the private health sector to determine factors that restrict, prevent or distort competition. He is a Chartered Director (SA) with many years' experience and served on boards of Nestle (SA), the Institute of Directors of South Africa and the Road Accident Fund, among others.

Dr Bhengu obtained the MB,ChB degree from Natal University and the Diploma in Anaesthetics from the College of Medicine of SA. His business management qualifications include MBA (Wales, Cardiff) and MPH Healthcare Management (Harvard) degrees. Dr Bhengu has participated as an invited speaker at various prestigious local and international platforms, including the Harvard Global Health Institute, Harvard Business School, Imperial College, the Board of Health Funders, the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) and the Blockchain Africa Conference. Ntuthuko is a Fellow of the African Leadership Initiative.
