Mr Dutton is an International policing and investigations expert and provides expertise on a consultancy basis internationally as well as locally. He has 38 years of policing experience in South Africa and was the first head of the Directorate of Special Operations.
In 2012 he was awarded the Order of Baobab in Gold by the President of South Africa for his South African and International police work. Mr Dutton is highly respected for his breakthrough investigations which uncovered the third force in the violence that engulfed KwaZulu-Natal during the late 80s and early 90s.
Working with Judge Richard Goldstone, he played leading roles in complex investigations in South Africa and many other countries - including Bosnia, Croatia, Kosovo, Sudan (Darfur), Afghanistan, DRC, Cameroon, Uganda, Nigeria, Rwanda, Kyrgyzstan, Liberia, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Brazil and East Timor.
He holds a National Police Diploma.
